Rounding Numbers in Microsoft Excel

When working with values in Microsoft Excel at times you are going to need to round them to the integer or number of decimal places that you need.
You can increase and decrease the number of decimal places in a cell by using the Increase Decimal and Decrease Decimal buttons in the Number group of the Home tab. When using these buttons to decrease the number of decimals, Excel will round the number up or down depending on the number. For example, 1.92 becomes 1.9 and 2.8 becomes 3.
Microsoft Excel provides a few different rounding functions that give you greater control over the figures you are using. The different functions are shown below. All examples are based on cell A1 containing the value of 1.9274
ROUND
The ROUND functions rounds a value to a specified number of digits. The syntax for the function is;
